Issues with Latin Transcription of
Turkish Sounds This piece was another account of remote life in
the bush. It captured my frustration with ♪(d=t=td|đ).
Clearly, there was a problem with the transcription of Turkish into Latin.
Fortunately, this was documented within the first edition dictionary. This
period marked the beginning of becoming aware of
[either-or(doesn't-matter)] states with sounds. This was
responsible for the difficulty of needing to choose a single letter, due
to the different characters sounding far too similar, if not one and the
same.
The Impact of Time Signatures on
Rhythmic Flow Rhythmically, this piece went through two
iterations. I wasn’t satisfied with the flow during the first edit. The
account of why it didn’t flow is important ♦,
as certain conditions contributed to this. I retained the sequence and
passed it through a different time signature, which offered a pleasant
solution and resulted in a flow that was comfortable and delightful for
me. It’s crucial to note this
♦ because this work captured
rhythmic conditions that were supportive versus antagonistic.
Adaptive Sounds: The 'Magpie Opera' and Shifting
Vowel Harmonies The term 'Magpie Opera' was coined from my
experience with this piece. It felt like my expression was akin to a
magpie’s warble, intruding and asserting itself in a unique and
distinctive manner. Similarly, this piece showed fluctuations in
Australian vowel harmonies, echoing the way the magpie’s warble blended
into and adapted to its surroundings.
Cultural Integration: Influence of Er Turan At this point, a
significant cultural weave emerged after making contact with Er Turan. It
was recognized as a signal close to home. The design motif from that
contact was introduced on the back of my snake.
