TheFakınmental Batman Blue Dictionary dictionary from Wombatistan was inspired by navy blue. This is a color I typically dislike and rarely(never) use in my acrylic paints. Despite my aversion, I decided to incorporate this color after being influenced by another artist who frequently used it. To my surprise, it contributed to one of my favorite artworks, trying to capture the moonlight in Wombatistan, that resembled a sunset on Mars. The dictionary's launch coincided with the peak of an Abojuice event at Wombatistan as the project progressed.

This piece expanded on the GRAB iT BY THE PiŞiK series, serving as a commentary on the influence of one particular artist's colour palette, especially my perception of their annoying quirk for navy blue. It was an exploration of synonyms to articulate what navy blue felt like to me. Visually, it involved creating various hypervoxel shades and shapes of navy blue, illustrating how nuanced language often circles back to similar concepts.

I wanted to see how nuanced meanings would translate into Turkish, because I could see it working as a diagnostic tool to help me examine what happened to the trajectories of English. The exercise highlighted some notable challenges caused by homophones. It also captured the raw state of my poor proficiency in Turkish, marking the early stages of my reconnection with the language. These samples were my first attempts to write in Türk`ish - which was something I never did as a kid - so they can offer further opportunity for reviewing grammar & sentence-structuring issues. It was foundational groundwork for developing a personalised dictionary to support my language learning needs, including an analysis of how English & Türk`ish sounds were inconsistently encoded with Latin. Using this as the initial landing page for adding further notes & summaries later.
