Captain's Log, Post Mortem Report [20240924_1927]

A layered exploration. A pışaq is a bıçak---it meant the same thing. This was one of the earlier pieces that identified the (çş) stutter-hesitation ...because it seemed like there was a 3rd letter (or sound) between both of them.

Language served as a tool. Shaped by definitions, but had to question: “Defined by whom?!” ~ Identities were constrained by societal norms and linguistic constructs, while the surreal haunting of a surgeon lingered on in the background with the leprechauns. Burdened by the weight of external definitions, it sparked a desire to reclaim language as an {own. The constraints imposed by traditional definitions needed to be challenged, while autonomy became the new act of defining {id. Definitions shaped identities. The understanding of {who_what_huh?! was shaped by the words and concepts that were encountered. Who had the authority to define {id, and by what standards? ...when the dictionary was a lifelong companion?

The offer of a blank book came with an invitation to reflect on how language molded existence. Inside the walk-in-wardrobe, {id urged {you to carve out {yore's failing(s). With solemn, serious eyes, {id made an earnest request:

«Show me how».
