This study investigated the vowel states of [aəe] to examine the challenges of perceiving tonal shifts, which can complicate vowel identification. I also noted instances of fractional vowels that appeared between the primary sounds.

The methodology involved recording each vowel in isolation to maintain consistent audio quality. Although the material was consistent, the exercise effectively demonstrated how tonal shifts continued to oscillate. It also successfully highlighted the [e=i] issue, a phenomenon I encountered many years later.

The primary objective was to enhance listening skills and gain a better understanding of the vowel [ə]. While I didn't grow up with this vowel sound identified as a letter, it was a significant part of my core that came from Mum.

This method was an effective testing platform for studying vowel oscillations. I need to tag this as a template for future reviews.
